Over 100 Italian pastry chefs broke the Guinness World Record for the longest tiramisu in London on Sunday (April 26), producing a dessert measuring in at 440.58 metres -- over 1,440 feet long.
Over two days, using only fresh ingredients, the chefs toiled for two days to prepare the Italian desert. A total of 19,000 eggs 400 kilograms of sugar and 128,000 biscuits went into the cake, which took about five hours to assemble.
Cheers erupted in the Chelsea Old Town Hall when the record was announced, with chefs and supporters celebrating with the national Italian national anthem before the dessert was divided into boxes for collection.
