Entalula Beach in El Nido, Palawan tops list of 50 best beaches in the world

Entalula Beach did it again but this time better: In 2025, Entalula Beach in El Nido, Palawan was named the 2nd Best Beach in the world. But this year, the ranking site World's 50 Beaches.com named Entalula Beach as the No. 1 among all beaches in the world.

According to worlds50beaches.com, Entalula is "Palawan's overlooked slice of heaven."

The judges said Entalula is a beach that has to be seen to be believed.

"It is set apart by its towering limestone cliffs that rise sharply behind a stretch of soft white sand, creating one of the most visually striking settings in the region and the world," the site said.

The site said the water in Entalula is exceptionally clear, and the calm conditions make it perfect for swimming. 

Entalula is only accessible by boat and this helps keep the place quiet and have a very natural feel.

"It’s the contrast of majestic cliffs, clear water, and amazing seclusion that gives Entalula its edge as a place that feels both dramatic and calm at the same time," the site said.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

The site is considered "definitive" and authoritative because over 1,000 journalists and experts vote for the annual list of the world's best beaches.

The site uses a specific set of criteria:

• Unique: Does the beach have a unique surrounding landscape ?

• Wildlife: Will visitors encounter incredible wildlife at this beach?

• Untouched: Is the beach in a pristine state?

• Soundtrack of Nature: Will visitors hear the sounds of the ocean and nature?

• Easy to Enter: Is the beach very easy to enter? Does it have calm waters and a sandy bottom?

• Often Calm Water: Is the ocean at this beach  usually very calm?

• Not Too Crowded: Is the beach never too crowded?

• Frequently Idyllic: Will visitors have  a great chance of having perfect beach days at this beach?

According to the site, the Best of the Best list was created in 2024.

The site aso has a disclaimer: "While they may not meet all criteria for the No. 1 designation, their exceptional qualities warrant a place on this list."

The top winners will "forever be honored" on its site but those that make it to the Hall of Fame list will "no longer eligible to be named in our annual list of The World’s 50 Best Beaches."
