A male Clumber Spaniel called Bruin has been crowned best in show at Crufts in the British city of Birmingham on Sunday (March 8).
Bruin, who is four-years-old, took the title on the last day of the annual dog show, where different canine breeds showcase their abilities and skills.
“It's a boyhood dream come true, and it just goes to show you never give up on your dreams because you never know when they will come true,” Bruin’s hander Lee Cox said in an interview. “I'm speechless. I never thought it was ever going to happen.”
He added, “He’s the dog of a lifetime, an absolute dog of a lifetime.”
According to Cruft’s website, this is the first time a Clumber Spaniel has won Best in Show since 1991.
Crufts was established in 1891 and is one of the largest dog shows in the world. This year's event, held at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre, took place March 5-8.
