Designer Pierpaolo Piccioli sent leather jackets, leggings and textured coats down the Balenciaga runway on Saturday (March 7) in a show entitled ClairObscur.
Playing on the concept of light and shadow, a technique utilised by painters Caravaggio and Rembrandt, Piccioli's fall-winter collection was strutted on a black runway lit up by screens with images from director Sam Levinson.
The looks leaned on sleek silhouettes, like a high collared jacket paired with slim denim jeans or a red leather jacket with leggings and high-heeled pumps.
Paris Fashion Week, featuring ready-to-wear designs, runs until Tuesday (March 10), with Chanel and Louis Vuitton still to unveil their collections.
