Hanwha Ocean shares surged 6% following President Trump’s announcement that the company will help build a new class of U.S. Navy frigates. The endorsement highlights Hanwha’s growing role in international defense projects.
Shares of South Korea's Hanwha Ocean jumped 6% in morning trade on Tuesday after U.S. President Donald Trump said the company will participate in building frigates for the U.S. Navy.
"Last week, the Navy announced a brand new class of frigate and they're going to be working with the South Korean company Hanwha," Trump said at a press conference, calling Hanwha a "good company."
