France celebrates 2026 in style with Paris fireworks show

Paris rang in 2026 with spectacular fireworks lighting up the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées, as Mayor Anne Hidalgo joined the city's New Year countdown celebrations.

Paris welcomed in 2026 on Thursday (January 1) with firework celebrations around iconic monuments in the French capital.


Much of the celebrations focused around the Arc de Triomphe and along the iconic Champs-Élysées.


Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo joined the celebrations as she counted down the clock to the start of a new year.
