Anna Wintour praises King Charles' address to Congress at New York King's Trust Gala

London-born Anna Wintour expressed her delight in King Charles' address to Congress on the red carpet at the King's Trust Global Gala in New York on Wednesday (April 29).

When asked if it was a relief to see the King push back on U.S. President Donald Trump, Wintour answered; "A hundred percent."

 Wintour, the chief content officer for Condé Nast and global editorial director for Vogue, said she was pleased the royal couple is visiting America.

"Obviously the speech that the King gave last night was incredible and struck all the right notes, and I am just very honored to be invited tonight," said Wintour.

The gala was held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the King's Trust, which was established by King Charles to help young people better their lives.

Musician Lionel Richie, a Trust global ambassador and group chairman, expressed the importance of preparing young people for their futures.

"The kids are all about the new future we're going to come to. And by the way, they have to be at the front of this. Follow their dreams."

Other celebrities who attended the event included singer Katherine Jenkins, designer Stella McCartney, and models Jasmine Tookes and Karlie Kloss.
