MANILA – A huge part of the country will experience rains caused by the prevailing southwest monsoon or habagat, and the trough of Tropical Depression Krovanh (formerly Pilandok), the weather bureau said Wednesday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said occasional rains will be experienced across Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro due to habagat.
Krovanh's trough will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.
Scattered rains and thunderstorms are also expected throughout Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Aklan, and Antique due to habagat.
Moderate to heavy rains in the those areas could result in flash floods or landslides.
The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by habagat and localized thunderstorms.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas still prevail across the archipelago.
Meanwhile, no low pressure area is being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation, PAGASA said.
