La Salle student falls from Manila campus building

An incoming freshman student of De La Salle University (DLSU) fell from a building in its Taft Avenue, Manila campus this afternoon, August 13.

In a post on its Facebook page, DLSU confirmed that "an incident occurred today involving an incoming student who fell from a building."

The statement also said that DLSU has reached out to the student's parents and that it is cooperating with the authorities.

Students who witnessed the incident have also "been debriefed and undergoing counseling."

The school requested for the public to maintain "a supportive and compassionate environment out of respect for the student and the family’s privacy during this sensitive time."

DLSU is one of the leading universities in the Philippines. It is a coeducational institution founded in 1911, with different campuses in the country with the Malate, Manila campus as the its first campus.
