‘Vibe check’ first: Mikee Quintos, Heaven Peralejo recall start of their friendship

Mikee Quintos and Heaven Peralejo opened up about how their friendship started and the events that made them closer during the May 4 episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.” 

Heaven, 26, recalled a moment during a Santacruzan event, “Umiiyak ako habang mini-makeup-an ako ng makeup artist ko.” 

Her makeup artist then suggested a trip to Siargao to help her “heal,” tellling her that Mikee would also be there. Though surprised, she agreed right away, saying, “Sige, book mo na nga.” For the “Nanahimik Ang Gabi" actress that was how their connection started.

Mikee, however, had a different perspective. She explained that they went to the same high school, with Heaven being two batches below her. She would often see Heaven on campus and even recalled a funny moment from her student council days when she commented on Heaven’s uniform, asking where her “navel” was because it seemed too low.

Heaven laughed as she confirmed the story, “Sabi niya, ‘Where’s your navel?’ Sobrang kaba ko, sabi ko, ‘Wala, wala akong navel.’” Mikee, however, admitted she doesn’t clearly remember that incident anymore.

The “Encantadia” actress, 28, revealed that she had always been aware of Heaven, “Kasi nagsa-stand out naman siya noon.”

She added, “Pero ayun nga, magkaiba kami ng network. So never kami nagka-chance to work together.” But she would occasionally see her from a distance.

They only reconnected later on, when they realized they had the same makeup artist,  which eventually led to their Siargao trip.

Before the trip, Mikee said they even had a “vibe check” meeting to see if they would get along. She explained that this is something they usually do for work, but this time, they applied it to their personal lives.

Later, Boy Abunda pointed out that both of them went through breakups in 2025—Mikee with Paul Salas and Heaven with Marco Gallo. Mikee said that having similar experiences helped strengthen their bond, which Heaven agreed with, adding that healing isn’t linear and can be messy.

Mikee added, “we help each other” by talking about their experiences and learning from one another. If one has already gone through something the other is currently facing, they offer advice and comfort based on what they’ve learned.

Fans have since been delighted by their unexpected friendship, especially as they frequently share moments online, whether traveling together, posting dance videos, or simply spending time together. One of their early clips shows them singing "Torete," with Heaven on vocals and Mikee playing the guitar, which gained attention for their chemistry and natural bond.
