Trump hosts New Year’s Eve party at Mar-a-Lago, auctions Jesus Christ painting for $2.75 million

At his Mar-a-Lago New Year’s Eve party, Donald Trump auctioned a live painting of Jesus Christ for $2.75 million, while sharing his New Year’s resolution of “peace on Earth.”

U.S. President Donald Trump hosted a New Year’s Eve party at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach on Wednesday (December 31), where he auctioned off a live painting of Jesus Christ for $2.75 million.

Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived at the event and were asked by a journalist about his New Year’s resolution, to which he replied, “peace on Earth.” He declined to answer questions about remarks by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who earlier said Ukraine would not sign a “weak” peace agreement to end the war with Russia.

During the event, Trump introduced artist Vanessa Horabuena, who created the painting in front of guests, including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Trump opened the bidding at $100,000 before announcing the winning $2.75 million bid.
