This beloved tradition, running since 1989, combines music, dance, and light effects for a captivating holiday experience.

Slovenia’s Postojna Cave Brings the Nativity Story to Life with Music, Dance, and Spectacle.

Actors and musicians entertained visitors at a Slovenian cave on Thursday (December 18), performing a recreation of the story of the birth of Jesus Christ.


The 24-kilometre long underground Postojna Cave is one of the largest and most captivating caves in Europe, and serves as a top tourist attraction of Slovenia, drawing around one million visitors every year.


The tradition of living nativity scenes started in 1989 and features costumed performers, actors and singers amid light and sound effects.


The production featured performers portraying angels, shepherds, Mary, Joseph, the Three Kings, and other biblical figures as they danced and sang during the show.
