Marian Rivera has finally addressed the long-standing “padlock” controversy involving another actress during her guest appearance on “Gandang Gabi, Vice!,” hosted by Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda.

The rumor allegedly dates back to a 2010 out-of-town filming of the TV series “Endless Love,” where the actress was accused of locking a fellow actress inside a restroom.

Before their sit-down conversation, the Primetime Queen took part in a skit with co-hosts Vince Maristela and Verna Periwinkle, who portrayed Dingdong Dantes and his co-star, respectively.

In the sketch, Marian surprises her husband, Dingdong, on set and catches him with the actress, who continues flirting with and kissing him even after the director calls cut.

This leads to an argument between Marian and the actress, during which Marian brings out a padlock and calls it the “lock ng katotohanan.”

“Hindi ito aware. Iyan ang mahirap kapag wala kang awareness sa social media,” Marian said.

During their conversation, Vice asked Marian, 42, whether the incident had really happened. “Yung totoo? Alam mo ako,” Marian began.

“Iyong totoo niyan, maayos na kaming dalawa. Noon pa man, way, way back na at hinding hindi ko makakalimutan. Nag-guest kasi siya sa Marian Show. Sabi sa akin ng staff dun, 'okay ba, igi-guest ko si ganito?'

"Sabi ko, of course, sige. Pumunta siya, nagkita kaming dalawa. Nag-sorry siya sa akin. So from there, alam niya na may mga nangyari na hindi naman talagang nangyari. Para sa akin, hindi ko na kailangan i-explain sa social media,” Marian shared.

Marian said it was the first time she had openly discussed the controversy as she had chosen to remain silent about it.

“Oo, pero willing naman ako to open up. Alam mo, buong buhay ko never ko itong pinag-uusapan kasi kahit anong paliwanag mo sa tao, nakadikta na sa utak nila 'yung totoong nangyari.

"So okay na ako dun. Ang mahalaga, kaming dalawa, 'pag nagkikita kami, okay na kami. At para sa akin, napatawad ko na siya,” Marian said.

When asked if the incident had actually happened, Marian firmly denied the allegation.

“Pero kung ang tanong mo ay nangyari ba talaga, hindi. Paano mo gagawin ‘yun na ila-lock mo na nasa loob ‘yung lock? Ibig sabihin, kaming dalawa ang nag-lock,” she explained.

Vice also questioned the plausibility of the story. He pointed out that dressing rooms typically have locks but do not use padlocks that can be secured from the inside.

“Exactly,” Marian replied. “Never. Pero alam mo Vice, yun yung pinakamaganda diyan. After all, lahat ng speculation, kung anong gusto nilang isipin, ang mahalaga, kami nung tao, maayos kami. Okay na ako dun,” Marian added.

Marian chose not to name the woman since they had already made peace a long time ago.

Meanwhile, Marian and Dingdong are set to reunite on the big screen in “Remember,” which follows the success of their previous movie, “Rewind.” The film will open in cinemas on November 11, 2026.
