The winners of the 2026 Tony Awards were announced on Sunday night, recognizing standout achievements across Broadway’s top plays, musicals, and performances. The ceremony highlighted a competitive field of nominees across multiple categories, with winners listed first in each section.


BEST PLAY


“The Balusters,” “Giant,” “Liberation,” and “Little Bear Ridge Road” were nominated for Best Play, with “The Balusters” taking the top honor.


BEST MUSICAL


“The Lost Boys,” “Schmigadoon!,” “Titaníque,” and “Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)” competed for Best Musical, with “Schmigadoon!” emerging as the winner.


BEST REVIVAL OF A PLAY


Nominees included “Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman,” “Becky Shaw,” “Every Brilliant Thing,” “Fallen Angels,” and “Oedipus,” with “Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman” winning Best Revival of a Play.


BEST REVIVAL OF A MUSICAL


“Cats: The Jellicle Ball,” “Ragtime,” and “Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show” were nominated, with “Ragtime” taking the award.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play


Will Harrison (“Punch”), Nathan Lane (“Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman”), John Lithgow (“Giant”), Daniel Radcliffe (“Every Brilliant Thing”), and Mark Strong (“Oedipus”) were nominated. John Lithgow won the category.


Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play


Rose Byrne (“Fallen Angels”), Carrie Coon (“Bug”), Susannah Flood (“Liberation”), Lesley Manville (“Oedipus”), and Kelli O’Hara (“Fallen Angels”) were nominated, with Lesley Manville winning.


Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical


Nicholas Christopher (“Chess”), Luke Evans (“Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show”), Joshua Henry (“Ragtime”), Sam Tutty (“Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)”), and Brandon Uranowitz (“Ragtime”) were nominated. Joshua Henry won the award.


Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical


Sara Chase (“Schmigadoon!”), Stephanie Hsu (“Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show”), Caissie Levy (“Ragtime”), Marla Mindelle (“Titaníque”), and Christiani Pitts (“Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)”) were nominated, with Caissie Levy winning.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play


Christopher Abbott, Danny Burstein, Brandon J. Dirden, Alden Ehrenreich (“Becky Shaw”), Ruben Santiago-Hudson, and Richard Thomas were nominated, with Alden Ehrenreich winning.


Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play


Betsy Aidem, Marylouise Burke, Aya Cash, Laurie Metcalf (“Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman”), and June Squibb were nominated. Laurie Metcalf won the category.


Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical


Ali Louis Bourzgui (“The Lost Boys”), André De Shields, Bryce Pinkham, Ben Levi Ross, and Layton Williams were nominated, with Ali Louis Bourzgui taking the award.


Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical


Shoshana Bean (“The Lost Boys”), Hannah Cruz, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, and Nichelle Lewis were nominated, with Shoshana Bean winning.


DIRECTION CATEGORIES

Best Direction of a Play


Nicholas Hytner (“Giant”), Robert Icke (“Oedipus”), Kenny Leon (“The Balusters”), Joe Mantello (“Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman”), and Whitney White (“Liberation”) were nominated, with Joe Mantello winning.


Best Direction of a Musical


Michael Arden (“The Lost Boys”), Lear deBessonet (“Ragtime”), Christopher Gattelli (“Schmigadoon!”), Tim Jackson (“Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)”), and Zhailon Levingston and Bill Rauch (“Cats: The Jellicle Ball”) were nominated. Zhailon Levingston and Bill Rauch won the award.


The 2026 Tony Awards once again celebrated a diverse slate of productions and performances, reflecting a strong year for Broadway across both new works and revivals.
