The South Korean talent agency HYBE is bringing its girl groups together for a rare crossover moment: KATSEYE, LE SSERAFIM, and ILLIT join forces for a new collaboration titled “Iconic by Mistake,” set to drop on June 12 at 1 p.m. KST/12 AM ET.

This will be the first time the three groups will join forces on one track, making it one of HYBE’s most talked-about projects this year.

The announcement was shared through the agency's and groups’  social media accounts, along with a full teaser schedule building up to release day. The music video arrived a day earlier, while the official single will be available on streaming platforms on Friday.

The MV is available on YouTube, giving fans a first look at its bold, cinematic concept. In the video, KATSEYE, LE SSERAFIM, and ILLIT move through surreal, high-energy scenes—driving and crashing trucks on a dark highway, robbing inside a cemetery, pulling teeth in a strange dentist’s office, and setting a cornfield on fire after triggering an electrical explosion from power lines.

The song itself leans into themes of online criticism and turning hate into confidence. The groups deliver lines such as, “Hating me is all you do, breakfast to dinner,” and “Thank you for the comments, it’s because of all your hate, I am iconic by mistake.”

The collaboration highlights HYBE’s growing girl group lineup, alongside its global roster that includes BTS, SEVENTEEN, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, and ENHYPEN.

LE SSERAFIM, which debuted in 2022, is the most senior of the three groups and is recognized for tracks such as “Fearless,” “Crazy,” and “Antifragile.” The group released their studio album “PUREFLOW, pt. 1” on May 22

ILLIT, which debuted in 2024, quickly gained global popularity with viral tracks like “Magnetic” and “Not Cute Anymore.” They released their fourth mini EP "MAMIHLAPINATAPAI" on April 30.  ILLIT is currently promoting their track “It's Me” as the collab song is about to be released.

KATSEYE likewise debuted in 2024 under HYBE and Geffen Records through the reality show “Dream Academy.” The multinational global group, which includes Filipino member Sophia Laforteza, has built buzz with tracks like “Touch,” “Gnarly,” and “Gabriela.” They are also preparing for their upcoming EP “Wild,” set for release in August.

Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM recently released their studio album “PUREFLOW, pt. 1” on May 22, while ILLIT continues promotions around their track “It's Me” as the collaboration rollout continues.
