Singer-songwriter John Roa is taking his music to the rest of Asia as he joins Dionela’s “The Promise Tour: Not a Dionela Show.”

Roa expressed his excitement after being announced as one of the tour’s guest artists. “Been blessed by this man in so many ways, and now I’m excited to be part of this journey with my brother Dionela,” Roa wrote in his post.

“The Promise Tour: Not A Dionela Show feels like more than just a concert. There’s something special about what this tour carries, and I’m grateful to witness it and be part of it. See you there,” he added.

Roa will share the stage with Dionela, FYNE, and Rangel as they kick off the first leg of the world tour across Asia.

The “Promise Tour” will have the following shows: September 2 at The Capitol Theater in Singapore; September 6 at the Legacy Taipei in Taiwan; October 27 at the Unit in Tokyo; and October 29 at the Meta Valley in Osaka. Tickets are available through Numinous Philippines.

John Neil Torrente Roa, professionally known as John Roa or JRoa, was a member of the hip-hop group Ex Battalion before pursuing a solo career. He officially debuted as a solo artist in 2017 with his digital single “Taguan.”

Roa started singing and competing in singing contests at a young age, including “Pilipinas Got Talent” Season 4 and It’s Showtime’s “Tawag ng Tanghalan.” While he initially made a name for himself as a hip-hop artist, his solo music has since evolved into a blend of R&B, modern pop, and soul.

He has also collaborated with major OPM acts and hip-hop artists such as Skusta Clee, Flow G, and Sarah Geronimo. Some of his popular hits include “Oks Lang,” “Alam Ko,” and “Byahe.”

Meanwhile, Timothy Dionela, who uses his surname as his stage name, is a Filipino singer-songwriter behind the hit songs “Sining” and “Marilag.” Both 2024 tracks became massive viral hits, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100, while “Sining” also dominated Spotify Philippines for seven consecutive weeks.

Dionela first built a following with romantic tracks such as “Musika” and “Oksihina.” The latter won Best R&B Recording at the 2024 Awit Awards.

In this year’s Awit Awards, Dionela earned 10 nominations, including Song of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Record of the Year. The nominations are for his 2025 song “Ikigai.”
