After winning the Best Actor award in the TV category of the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards on May 8, Hyun Bin just added another accolade for his performance in the period action-thriller series “Made in Korea.”

On May 19, Korean actor Hyun Bin won the Best Actor (Series) award at the 24th Directors’ Cut Awards. The recognition highlighted the strong reception of the series as well as his performance.

The Directors’ Cut Awards are among South Korea’s most prestigious entertainment honors, organized annually by the Directors Guild of Korea (DGK) and judged primarily by film and television directors in Korea.

At the ceremony, Hyun Bin, 43, won in the Best Actor in a Series category, edging out strong contenders including Park Ji Hoon (Weak Hero Class 2), Park Hae Soo (Karma), Yang Se Jong (Low Life), and Lee Hee Jun (Karma).

Made in Korea follows Baek Gi Tae (Hyun Bin), a man driven by ambition and greed who seeks wealth and power by using the nation itself as a means of profit. Hyun Bin’s portrayal of Baek Gi Tae showcases a darker and more intense side of his acting compared to his previous roles.

As interest in both the drama and Hyun Bin’s performance continues, anticipation is also building for "Made in Korea 2," which is scheduled to premiere in the second half of this year.

Hyun Bin is also known for hit dramas such as “Crash Landing on You,” “Secret Garden,” and films including “Harbin” and “Confidential Assignment.”
