Gerald Anderson shuns relationships, chooses self-growth after breakup

Following his breakup with actress Julia Barretto last year,  Gerald Anderson is now focusing on his own personal growth.

On the second episode of the TV show “Stars on Stars" aired last Saturday, May 9, Gerald appeared alongside his “Blood vs. Duty” co-star Baron Geisler, where he opened up about why he has chosen to stay single for now.

“The reason I’m single now is because I want to become a better partner, a better person, a better son, a better brother, and a better provider,” Gerald admitted.

He added that focusing on himself is necessary to achieve the kind of life he wants in the future. “Magagawa ko iyan if I focus on myself muna. Ang dami kong ginagawa kasi I’m building the life I want in five years. I want to be the best version of myself, so I have to start now,” he said.

Baron also teased Gerald by asking, “Sino ang pinaka minahal mo?” Gerald just laughed and didn’t answer.

Aside from acting, Gerald — who has been in show business for 20 years — is also busy managing his growing businesses. During the interview, Baron, 43, revealed that Gerald, 37, currently owns two resorts in Zambales and gyms under his fitness brand, The Th3rd Floor, with branches in Quezon City and Mandaluyong.

Gerald and Julia, 29, officially confirmed their relationship in March 2021 after years of speculation that started around 2019 following their film “Between Maybes.” Although they initially kept their relationship private, they later went public before eventually splitting in September 2025. Their breakup was confirmed through a brief statement released by Gerald’s agency, Star Magic.
