Filipina beauty queen Lyndzy Maranan crowned Miss Global Universe 2026

Another Filipina queen has made the country proud. Lyndzy Maranan has added a new crown to the Philippines’ collection of accolades after she won Miss Global Universe 2026 in Singapore on Saturday, July 11.

The Filipina beauty queen outshone delegates from various countries to claim the title and bring honor to the nation. The Mutya ng Pilipinas 2025 – Luzon titleholder received the crown from Quinty Verhoeve of the Netherlands, the previous Miss Global Universe titleholder.

Miss Singapore Vanessa Hoong was named first runner-up, while Selina Wang from Hong Kong placed second runner-up. Representatives from Belgium and New Zealand completed the Top 5, earning the third and fourth runner-up positions, respectively.

Following her win, Maranan expressed her gratitude online. "My heart is so grateful, and I'm still in awe of this blessing," she wrote. "Thank you for all your messages, love, and support. Mahal ko kayong lahat," she added.

Aside from winning the crown, Maranan also received the Best in Evening Gown (Long Gown) award. Her winning gown was created by renowned Filipino fashion designer Louis Pangilinan, with her team describing it as her “final armor” for the competition. 

The piece featured a regal silhouette with intricate details of shimmering sequins, stones, and feathered elements that reflected the stage lights during her runway walk.

Her national costume also caught viewers' attention for its creative tribute to the Philippines’ marine heritage. The costume showcased colorful 3D coral reefs and clownfish, symbolizing the rich underwater life found across the Philippine islands. 

It also featured an elaborate ocean-inspired headdress and a giant clam (taklobo) design, which her team said represented “resilience, abundance, and hope.”

Before the competition, Maranan shared her promise to give her best as she carried the Philippine sash on the international stage.

"I carry my country, my people, and every Filipino who believed in me," she said, adding that her performance was her gift to the nation.

Maranan’s journey to the crown began 17 years ago when she first joined school pageants and represented her year level. Over the years, she continued competing in community and national pageants, eventually earning the honor of representing the Philippines.

She previously shared her gratitude for the opportunity, saying that being called Miss Philippines was a dream she would always cherish. She also thanked the people who supported her throughout her journey, saying their love, prayers, and encouragement carried her through every victory, setback, and comeback.

"This dream may have started with me, but today, I carry it for an entire nation. For God. For the Philippines. For His glory," she said.
