Flower farmers in La Trinidad, Benguet reported brisk sales during the Undas season after being allowed to sell directly to consumers through a temporary flower market established by the local government.
Many growers sold out their harvests during the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, with around 120 stalls operating at the town public market's parking area, according to a Philippine News Agency (PNA) report.
The setup enabled farmers to negotiate prices directly with buyers, eliminating the need for middlemen.
Farmers said the arrangement benefited both sellers and consumers, providing better earnings for growers while allowing buyers to purchase flowers at more competitive prices.
They also welcomed the local ordinance that designated a selling area for flower vendors during Undas.
In Baguio City, the Undas observance remained generally peaceful, with the Baguio City Police Office reporting no major security incidents from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.
Authorities recorded four minor crime incidents and five traffic accidents involving injuries and property damage.
Police data showed that about 45,000 people visited the city's public cemetery during the three-day observance.
Security operations also covered memorial parks, transport terminals, public markets, tourist destinations, and other public areas, with no major violations reported.
