Minimum wage earners in the National Capital Region (NCR) are set to receive a PHP60 daily wage increase, effective Sept. 26.

In a news release, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said Wage Order NCR-28, published on Friday and taking effect after 15 days, raises the minimum wage for non-agricultural workers from PHP695 to PHP755 and for agricultural workers from PHP658 to PHP718.

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board - NCR issued the wage order following the established tripartite wage-setting process.

DOLE reminded employers to comply with the new wage rates once they take effect, assuring workers that the department will monitor implementation.

The salary adjustment is set to benefit approximately 1.1 million daily wage earners in Metro Manila, based on DOLE data.

The wage increase reflects President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s commitment to improving workers’ purchasing power and promoting inclusive economic growth.
