The streets of Washington, D.C. were awash with color and celebration on Saturday (June 20) as the Capital Pride Parade took place to celebrate diversity and inclusion.
Participants marched with rainbow flags as floats rolled through the city, cheered on by spectators waving signs and dancing.
“We need visibility because if we didn't have Pride… we would kind of be the silent minority,” said Greg, a 64-year-old retiree from Virginia at the parade.
Another parade spectator called for unity across communities as police and National Guard monitored the festivities.
