Visitors filled Santafe Medellin mall Wednesday (July 29) for the 16th annual Flower Carpet, a 1,000-square-meter installation made from 220,000 flowers and 27,000 plants.

Built around the theme "When love unites, peace blooms," the installation centers on a dove suspended 15.5 meters above the ground as a symbol of peace and love, according to the mall's general manager Fernanda Bertel.

The display will be open to the public from July 16 to August 30 and required more than 200 people for its design, planting, installation and maintenance, an statement from the mall said.

"This giant dove with its outstretched wings, spanning 17 meters from side to side, embraces us with that message. We see it smile from different angles and deliver that message, alongside a natural tapestry of more than 220,000 flowers including petunias and marigolds," Bertel said.

One of the main attractions of Medellin's Flower Festival, the 2025 edition of the Flower Carpet drew 3.1 million domestic and international visitors, the statement read.
