Super Typhoon Champi forecast to enter PH Area of Responsibility by October 20

The center of the eye of Super Typhoon #Champi was estimated based on all available data at 2,090 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon as of the 10:00 a.m. update of DOST-PAGASA on Sunday (October 18, 2026).

It is forecast to move generally west northwestward and will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Tuesday (Oct. 20) morning or afternoon. Once inside PAR, the tropical cyclone will be given the domestic name #Rosal. After reaching its peak intensity, gradual weakening will likely commence on the same day.

Wind signals may be hoisted over the northern and eastern portions of Northern Luzon and portions of Bicol Region as early as Monday (October 19) evening or Tuesday morning in anticipation of strong winds or higher. -Philippine News Agency
