PAGASA: Scattered rains, thunderstorms to hit parts of Luzon

Parts of Luzon will continue to experience rain on Thursday due to a low pressure area (LPA) and the easterlies, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA: Scattered rains, thunderstorms to hit parts of Luzon

MANILA – Parts of Luzon will continue to experience rain on Thursday due to a low pressure area (LPA) and the easterlies, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

As of 3 a.m., the LPA was located over the coastal waters of Nasugbu, Batangas. PAGASA said it remains unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours.

The weather system will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, and the Calabarzon region.

Cagayan Valley is also expected to experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.

PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rainfall in affected areas may trigger flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms may also cause flash floods or landslides.

The weather bureau added that light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters will continue to prevail across the country. (PNA) -Philippine News Agency
