MANILA — A large part of Luzon will experience rains due to a low pressure area (LPA) and the easterlies, the state weather bureau said Wednesday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was located over the coastal waters of Rapu-Rapu, Albay as of 3 a.m. It is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours.
The LPA will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, the Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, and Marinduque.
Scattered rains and thunderstorms are also expected in Cagayan and Isabela due to the easterlies.
PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rains in affected areas may cause flash floods or landslides.
The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms, which may also lead to flash floods or landslides during severe conditions.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are expected to prevail across the archipelago, PAGASA said. (PNA) -Philippine News Agency
