Over 1.1 million workers in NCR set to receive 'historic' P85 daily wage increase — DOLE

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Francis Tolentino on Tuesday said over 1.1 million minimum wage workers in the National Capital Region (NCR) stand to receive a P85 increase in their daily wages.
The Secretary noted that this adjustment represents the largest single daily minimum wage increase enacted in Metro Manila to date.
“Bilang pagsunod din sa tagubilin ng ating mahal na Pangulong Marcos, itinataas po natin ang sweldo ng lahat ng manggagawa dito sa Metro Manila. Makikinabang po ay 1.1 million daily wage earners. Itinataas po natin sa isang makasaysayang P85 increase ," Tolentino said, according to a report of the Philippine News Agency (PNA).
PNA said the upcoming increase will be implemented in two tranches:
P60 effective July 19, 2026
P25 effective January 20, 2027
Under Wage Order No. NCR-27, minimum wage earners in the NCR are entitled to the following daily rates:
Non-agriculture sectors: P780
Agriculture (plantation and non-plantation): P743
Service/retail establishments (15 workers or less): P743
Manufacturing establishments (fewer than 10 workers): P743
Tolentino reminded all employers to adhere strictly to this new wage order, PNA said.
