November 16-18 declared as holidays in Metro Manila for ASEAN Summit

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. declared Nov. 16 to 18, 2026 as special non-working days in the National Capital Region (NCR) to help ease traffic and ensure the safety of participants in the 49th ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings.

Under Proclamation No. 1447 signed by Acting Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto on Sept. 17 by authority of the President, the three-day holiday covers the entire NCR.

The proclamation said the 497th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits will be held in the NCR, prompting the government to declare the special non-working days to alleviate traffic and allow the host country to secure the safety of summit participants.

The measure covers Monday, Nov. 16, through Wednesday, Nov. 18.

The Philippines is set to host the ASEAN Summit and related high-level meetings as part of its role as ASEAN chair in 2026.
