No injuries reported after Saudia plane hits tail of PAL aircraft at NAIA

A taxiing Saudia aircraft hit the tail of a parked Philippine Airlines (PAL) aircraft at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) late Tuesday (July 8, 2026).

The New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) has confirmed that no injuries were reported and airport operations were not significantly affected, a report of the Philippine News Agency (PNA) said.

All passengers aboard Saudia Flight SV871 disembarked safely following the flight's cancellation, and PAL confirmed that no passengers or crew were onboard their aircraft at the time of the collision.

Initial reports indicate that the wingtip of the Saudia aircraft struck the tail section of a parked PAL Airbus A320 at low speed.

Both aircraft sustained damage and are currently undergoing technical assessment, the PNA report said.

No damage to airport infrastructure or ground equipment was reported.

The NNIC is conducting a full investigation into the circumstances of the incident, including a review of airside communications and aircraft movement records.
