No Filipinos hurt in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia after Houthi attacks — DMW

MANILA – No Filipino was hurt in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, following drone and ballistic missile attacks launched by Houthi militants on Saturday and Friday, the Department of Migrant Workers said.

“The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is closely monitoring the situation of Filipinos in Saudi Arabia through the Migrant Workers Offices (MWOs) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in close coordination with the Philippine Embassy and Consulate,” the DMW said in a news release on Monday.

“The Embassy and Consulate are ready to assist overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who may need help,” it added.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree on Saturday said the group carried out the military operations that “targeted sensitive sites in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, and the second targeted Aramco facilities in Yanbu", in retaliation for recent attacks on Yemeni capital Sanaa.

Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Malkithe, official spokesperson of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, in a statement, said “the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces successfully intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Terrorist Houthi Militia toward the city of Riyadh at dawn on Saturday, September 19, 2026.”

The DMW advised Filipinos in the Kingdom to remain vigilant and follow safety instructions and advisories issued by Saudi authorities.
