The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has maintained its full alert status across Metro Manila as families continue returning home following the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, or Undas, according to a report by the Philippine News Agency (PNA).

As of Monday noon, the NCRPO reported a generally peaceful and orderly observance of All Saints' Day, with thousands of families visiting cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbaria to pay respects to their departed loved ones.

In a statement, NCRPO officer-in-charge Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano said police personnel remain deployed to address emergencies, keep order, and assist the public as travel activity continues.

"As families continue their journey home after Undas, the NCRPO assures the public that its personnel will remain ready to respond to emergencies, maintain peace and order, and provide assistance wherever needed," Abrahano said.

Police presence remains concentrated in areas experiencing heavy traffic and large volumes of returning passengers. The NCRPO also urged the public to immediately report suspicious activities or emergencies to authorities.

The police agency likewise warned the public against scammers who may take advantage of the occasion, including individuals posing as religious ministers and offering prayers or blessings in exchange for money.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Army partnered with government agencies and other stakeholders in honoring the nation's fallen heroes through wreath-laying, candle-lighting, and flag-setting ceremonies at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, on Oct. 31.

The Army said the synchronized candle-lighting and flaglet-setting rites paid tribute to soldiers, national heroes, artists, scientists, and former presidents buried at the national cemetery.

As of Oct. 29, a total of 54,568 remains had been interred at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
