The Philippine Embassy in Rome has advised the Filipino community in Italy to remain vigilant as nationwide demonstrations and public gatherings are scheduled for Saturday, October 24.
Protests are expected in several major cities, including Rome, Milan, Florence, Turin, Bologna, Padua, Bari, and Genoa.
While authorities expect the gatherings to remain largely peaceful, the embassy cautioned that past demonstrations have resulted in isolated violent clashes, property damage, theft, and public transit disruptions.
Filipinos are urged to avoid protest sites, monitor official advisories, and strictly comply with instructions from local Italian authorities.
The embassy stated that it is closely monitoring the situation and stands ready to assist affected Filipinos. -Paraluman News
