Easterlies to bring warm, humid weather across PH

Warm and humid conditions will prevail over the majority of the Philippines due to the ongoing presence of the easterlies, according to a report by the Philippine News Agency (PNA), citing the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

However, the weather bureau warned that the easterlies will also trigger scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in the Bicol Region, specifically over Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes.

Residents in these provinces are advised to stay vigilant, as moderate to heavy rainfall may lead to flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon (amihan) will bring isolated light rains to northern Luzon, covering the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley. The remainder of the country can expect isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms brought by the easterlies and atmospheric instability.

High temperatures are forecast across several major regions:

• Zamboanga: Up to 34°C

• Davao: Up to 33°C

• Metro Manila, Legazpi, Tuguegarao, Puerto Princesa, Kalayaan Islands, Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban, and Cagayan de Oro: Up to 32°C

PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Dominguez noted that Severe Tropical Storm In-Fa remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and has no direct impact on any part of the country.
