Death toll from June 8 Sarangani earthquake now at 92, NDRRMC says

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Monday (July 6, 2026) said the death toll from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao on June 8 has risen to 92.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Monday (July 6, 2026) said the death toll from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao on June 8 has risen to 92.


A report of the Philippine News Agency said among these fatalities, nine are confirmed casualties in Region 11, while 83 remain under validation across Regions 11 and 12.


The number of injured stands at 1,316, with 20 individuals still reported missing.


The earthquake has affected approximately 391,231 families across Regions 9, 11, 12, and BARMM. Significant damage has been reported, including:


- Housing: 113,370 houses damaged (94,988 partially and 18,382 totally).

- Infrastructure: Estimated damage of PHP 1.47 billion.

- Agriculture: Estimated losses of PHP 9.59 million.
