VVINK member Ayaka is taking a hiatus from the P-pop girl group’s activities to focus on personal matters. FlipMusic Records and VVINK Management announced the decision on Wednesday, August 12, through VVINK’s official social media pages.
Ayaka Takakuwa, who serves as the group’s main rapper and youngest member, is temporarily stepping away from group activities following discussions with her family, management, and fellow members.
Management said they agreed to accommodate Ayaka’s decision and emphasized that they fully support her choice. “We recognize that taking a step back is an important personal decision,” the statement read, adding that they respect her need to take this time for herself.
The announcement did not provide specific details about the personal matters Ayaka is attending to. Instead, management asked fans to extend their understanding, patience, and support.
“We are committed to giving her the space and time she needs,” FlipMusic Records and VVINK Management said.
Ayaka, 19, will remain a member of VVINK throughout her hiatus. However, she will not participate in the group’s activities while the break is in effect. Any update regarding her return will be announced at the appropriate time, with her well-being and readiness taken into consideration.
Management also appealed to fans to respect Ayaka’s privacy and avoid speculation or the spread of unverified information.
“As VVINK moves forward, Angelika, Odri, Jean, and Mariel will continue with the group’s scheduled activities and upcoming projects,” management announced.
Management also thanked fans for their continued support for the group, saying their encouragement remains important to the members during this period.
“ We look forward to continuing this journey together. Maraming salamat po,” FlipMusic Records and VVINK Management concluded.
Pronounced “wink,” VVINK is a five-member P-pop girl group formed by FlipMusic. The group is composed of Angelika, Ayaka, Jean, Mariel and Odri.
VVINK officially debuted in July 2025 with its single “Tulala.” Before their formal debut, the members introduced themselves through “VVINK: The Pre-Debut Album,” a 10-track collection.
On May 29, VVINK released its 14-track debut album, “It Starts With a Wink.” The group’s popular songs include “Kailan Ka Aamin,” “Tulala,” and “Baduy.”
The group’s stylized double-V name is a nod to “second chances” and “double victory,” themes that have become part of VVINK’s identity and journey.
The members have appeared in various shows and televised talent competitions. Leader Angelika previously worked as a songwriter and co-wrote BINI’s hit song “Pantropiko,” while Mariel and Jean competed in “The Voice Kids Philippines” Season 3.
Before becoming a member of VVINK, Ayaka had already made a name for herself in the Philippine entertainment scene. She rose to fame as a young contestant on the “Eat Bulaga!” segment “Little Miss Philippines 2014: My Mini Me.” She later moved to Japan at age 8, where she spent several years before eventually returning to music and becoming part of VVINK.
