Netflix has released the trailer for the new romcom “Voicemails for Isabelle” starring Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson. The film follows two strangers brought together after a phone number reassignment leads to an unexpected bond.

The streamer teased the movie with the caption, “Wrong number. Right connection,” while Deutch and Robinson, 31, recently revealed they’ve actually known each other since they were teenagers.

According to People, the “Jurassic World” actor said working with Deutch, 31, came naturally, praising her for bringing an effortless energy to the set while also being deeply dedicated to her craft and making the experience fun with her sense of humor.  The “Set It Up"star shared similar feelings, saying she was happy they finally had the chance to work together onscreen.

Deutch plays Jill, a young woman grieving the loss of her sister Isabelle, played by Ciara Bravo. To somewhat stay connected to her, Jill leaves a series of emotional, funny, and deeply personal voicemails about her life and everything her sister is missing.

What she doesn’t realize is that Isabelle’s old number has been reassigned to Wes, played by Robinson, who unexpectedly begins listening to every voicemail. Wes slowly gets to know Jill as she opens up in ways people rarely do face to face.

The cast also includes Nick Offerman, Lukas Gage, Harry Shum Jr., Gil Bellows, Megan Danso, and Spencer Lord. The romcom is directed by Leah McKendrick, who returns with another emotionally grounded dramedy following her 2023 film “Scrambled.”

McKendrick said "Voicemails for Isabelle" was inspired by her relationship with her real-life younger sister.  The film premieres on Netflix on June 19.
