Suri Noelle is no longer carrying the famous Cruise surname. The daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes has legally changed her last name to Noelle, according to an exclusive report by Page Six.
The 20-year-old has already been publicly using the name Suri Noelle for years, including during her high school graduation. She is currently a college student at a university in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was registered to vote in Allegheny County during her freshman year in October 2024 under the name Suri Noelle, according to People. The name also shares a connection with her mother's middle name.
As reported by Page Six, Pennsylvania courts confirmed that residents must register to vote using their legal name. Suri did not file a name change request in Allegheny County, suggesting that the legal change may have been completed in New York before she left for college. While it was unclear when Suri Noelle became her official legal name, she has been using the name publicly in recent years.
The name change comes as Suri continues to maintain a mostly private life away from Hollywood’s spotlight. In December 2024, Holmes addressed reports claiming that Suri had received a trust fund from Cruise, 64, after turning 18. The 47-year-old actress shared a screenshot of the article on social media, calling the report “completely false,” and added, “Enough,” on Instagram.
Cruise and Holmes welcomed Suri in April 2006, married in November of that year, and finalized their divorce in 2012. Since then, Suri has largely stayed out of the public eye, though she has occasionally appeared alongside her mother.
In 2022, Suri made a rare creative contribution to Holmes’ film “Alone Together,” performing a cover of the song “Blue Moon,” which was featured during the movie’s opening credits.
