'Tito' Ruru Madrid excited as sister Rere, Kai Sotto welcome Baby Atlas

Ruru Madrid couldn’t contain his excitement as he welcomed the newest addition to their family, Baby Atlas, his nephew and the first child of his younger sister, actress Rere Madrid, and basketball player Kai Sotto.

The actor shared adorable videos and photos of himself cradling the newborn on Instagram, marking his new role as a “tito” and celebrating the family’s latest blessing.

“TITO RURU NA AKO!” he wrote. “Congratulations, Bunso at Bayaw, sa isang napakagandang biyayang ipinagkaloob sa inyo.”

Ruru, 28, also posed for photos with Rere and his girlfriend, Bianca Umali, 28, as they celebrated the growing family.

“Re @reremadrid, sobrang proud ako sa’yo. Mommy ka na! Alam kong hindi naging madali ang lahat, pero look at you now. You did it, Bunso.”

He also praised his brother-in-law for the sacrifices he has made while being away from his family because of his basketball career.

“Bayaw @kzsotto, alam ko rin na hindi madali para sa’yo na mapalayo kay Baby, pero ginagawa mo ito para sa kanila. Saludo ako sa’yo, Bayaw.”

Together with Bianca, Ruru also shared a sweet message for his newborn niece.

“Nandito lang kami ni Tita Bianca para sa’yo, Baby Atlas. We'll be here to watch you grow, support you, and love you every step of the way.”

“Welcome to the world, Atlas. We love you!” Ruru ended.

Rere, 25, and Kai, 24, shared the news of their growing family through their respective Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Kai posted a candid photo of his wife after giving birth with the caption “TYL,” or Thank You Lord, while Rere shared a photo of Kai happily holding their newborn son.

“A blessing I will love, nurture, and protect with everything I have,” Rere wrote.

Rere and Kai announced last June that they were expecting their first child, following their surprise wedding reveal in May.
