Star Magic clarifies Kim Chiu’s resurfaced interview

Talent management agency Star Magic has issued a statement on behalf of Kim Chiu to clarify a resurfaced 2023 interview involving the actress-host and her sister, Lakambini Chiu, amid the ongoing criminal complaint Kim filed against her.

The agency clarified that while the interview reflected the circumstances at the time, it should not be viewed as representing the current situation.

"Since then, Kim has discovered material information that came to light in 2025, which prompted her to take legal action. As a result, a criminal complaint filed by Kim against Ms. Lakambini Chiu is currently pending before the proper authorities," the statement read.

Star Magic added that Kim, 36, remains "firm in her decision to pursue the case through the proper legal process in order to establish the truth, hold the responsible parties accountable, and seek justice."

According to the agency, the statement was released "to clarify the timeline of events and to avoid any misunderstanding arising from previously recorded statements." The agency also asked for the public's understanding and requested that Kim's privacy be respected while the legal proceedings are ongoing.

The case stems from a qualified theft complaint Kim filed against Lakambini last December after allegedly discovering serious financial discrepancies and missing funds involving their business.

Kim's legal team previously said the actress took legal action only after months of internal audits and repeated attempts to settle the matter privately.
