'Sine Sindak'returns with seven horror and thriller flicks

The annual horror and thriller film fest “Sine Sindak” returns to cinemas this October with “Sine Sindak: The 7th Cycle,” featuring seven films from different countries.

SM Cinema announced the complete lineup on Thursday, which was up from six entries last year.

The movies includes “App The Horror” (South Korea), “Crawlers” (United States), “Never After Dark” (Japan), “The Influencer Project” (Denmark), “Cerita Lila” (Indonesia), “Phi Phong” (Vietnam), and “VHS” (Philippines).

Darryl Yap's “VHS (Viva Horror Stories)” is the only Filipino film in this year's lineup. The film stars Sarah Lahbati, Ella Cruz, Sachzna Laparan, and McCoy de Leon. It also marks Yap's first-ever horror film.

Ticket prices for this year's festival have yet to be announced, but they are expected to be lower than regular cinema ticket prices, which typically range from ₱275 to ₱400.

Last year, tickets cost ₱150 each. In previous editions, Sine Sindak also offered a ₱300 all-day pass, allowing moviegoers to watch multiple films throughout the day.

The festival will also feature the Sine Sindak Horror House, a free attraction where moviegoers can experience a chilling setup and take photos as souvenirs. However, the attraction will only be available at selected participating malls.

“Sine Sindak: The 7th Cycle” will run from October 28 to November 3, 2026, at SM Cinemas.
