SB19 bags two major wins at SEC Awards 2026 in Brazil

SB19 scored another international victory after winning two major accolades at the SEC Awards 2026 in Brazil. The Kings of P-pop were named International Group/Duo of the Year and International Album/EP of the Year for their acclaimed record “Wakas At Simula.”

The latest wins bring their total SEC Awards haul to five, further cementing their dominance at the Brazilian-based awards show. 

The group has been nominated every year since 2022 and has been a consistent international winner, with a 2022 win for Musical Group/Group of the Year, a 2023 nomination,  International Group/Duo of the Year wins in 2024 and 2025, and their 2026 double victories for "Wakas At Simula."

The 2026 edition of the SEC Awards isits biggest staging yet, celebrating excellence in television, music, film, and entertainment, with fans worldwide voting for their favorite artists, series, films, and other acts across various categories. 

SB19’s latest wins also came alongside the recent announcement of a physical global CD release of "Wakas At Simula," giving fans another way to experience the record beyond live performances.

The P-pop powerhouse also joined a star-studded list of Asian winners led by K-pop artists, with BTS member Jin emerging as one of the biggest winners after taking home International Male Artist of the Year, Asian Artist of the Year and International Song of the Year for his chart-topping single “Don’t Say You Love Me.” 

Fellow BTS member J-Hope also earned International Feat of the Year for his collaboration with K-Pop group LE SSERAFIM on the song “Spaghetti.” 

BLACKPINK also had a strong showing, with Lisa winning International Female Artist of the Year, while Jisoo earned Performance in Asian Series for her acting role as Seo Mi-rae in “Boyfriend on Demand," which also won “Best Asian Series.”

Meanwhile, Thai actress-singer Freen Sarocha was named International Crush of the Year, while Wan and Maewnam (played by Thai actresses Milk Pansa Vosbein and Love Pattranite Limpatiyakorn) of the GL series “Whale Store XOXO” were awarded “Favorite Couple/Ship,” Jujutsu Kaisen won “Best Anime,” and K-Pop Demon Hunters took “Best Streaming Movie,” with the remaining categories awarded to Brazilian winners.

SB19 is set to perform at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, California, on July 28 as part of Global Spin Live, followed by their “I WaS There” Thanksgiving Fan Meet in Sacramento on August 8 and Yokohama on August 18.
