Ruffa Gutierrez debunks rumors mom Annabelle Rama is dead

Ruffa Gutierrez has belied rumors claiming that her mother, former actress and talent manager Annabelle Rama, has died. The actress stressed that her mom is alive and well.

On Monday, October 19, Ruffa addressed the rumors in a Facebook post, firmly denying the false reports that her 73-year-old mother had passed away.

“Walang katotohanan ang mga kumakalat na balita. MY MOM IS ALIVE & KICKING!!” she wrote.

Ruffa, 52, also called on social media content creators to use their platforms responsibly instead of spreading fabricated stories for views and engagement.

"Spreading false stories and damaging someone's reputation for the sake of views and engagement is never right,” she retorted.

Ruffa reminded content creators that their posts can affect not only the people involved but also their families. She encouraged them to think carefully about what they share online and to promote truth and positivity rather than misinformation and hate.

“Words have power, and behind every headline are real people and families who can be deeply affected,” Ruffa said. “Let us choose truth over rumors, kindness over cruelty, and integrity over attention.

“A little more respect and compassion can go a long way. Maraming salamat po,” she concluded.

Ruffa, the eldest child and the only daughter of Annabelle and Eddie Gutierrez, had previously seen her family become the target of false death reports. In February, her father, veteran actor and former 60s matinee idol Eddie Gutierrez, was also the subject of a similar hoax.

Eddie, 84, personally addressed the rumors in a video Ruffa shared on social media, assuring viewers that the reports were untrue.

“I’m still alive and kicking. Hindi pa ako namamatay. Binigyan pa ako ng Panginoon ng ilang taon,” he said in the video at the time.
