Pinoy Big Brother bids goodbye to iconic house as it moves to new location

The iconic Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) house is officially closing as the production prepares to move to a new location. 

Director Laurenti “Lauren” Dyogi, ABS-CBN’s Head of TV Production and Star Magic, confirmed the news during a farewell gathering with staff, hosts, and executives, as posted on the official Facebook page of PBB.

Director Dyogi noted that while the house has been maintained for 21 years, the recent collaboration with GMA allowed the production to extend its stay a bit longer. 

The original and iconic PBB house, built in 2005, featured two bedrooms, a bathroom, a garden, a pool, and more than 20 cameras operating 24/7.

He stated that it is now time for a new house to provide future housemates with a fresh experience. 

While the lease for the original landmark has expired, Dyogi confirmed that ABS-CBN retains the format license for several more years and that auditions for a new season will open soon.

“We still have the format and license for a few more years, so there’s more to look forward to,” he said.

Longtime hosts and former housemates Bianca Gonzalez and Robi Domingo also shared their gratitude for the home, reflecting on the many lives and careers transformed within its walls since it was built in 2005.

Gonzales posted on Instagram, “Goodbye BB House. To the home where hundreds of lives were changed for good, we are forever grateful,” while Domingo said it “produced countless personalities, superstars, and stories para sa lahat ng mga kababayan natin.”

Further details regarding the location of the next PBB house will be announced in the near future.
