Former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Michael Sager has officially been named the newest co-host of “Pinoy Big Brother: Collab 3.0.”
Sager, 23, was announced as the latest addition to the hosting team on Monday, October 5, joining PBB mainstays Bianca Gonzalez-Intal, Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros, Enchong Dee, Gabbi Garcia, and Alexa Ilacad for the upcoming ABS-CBN-GMA-7 collaboration.
The announcement opens a new chapter for Sager, who first entered the reality show as a housemate in March 2025 before returning to Bahay ni Kuya—this time as part of its hosting team. He takes over from Mavy Legaspi, who served as the Kapuso host since the inaugural PBB Collab edition.
Mavy previously faced online criticism over what some viewers described as “cringe” and “awkward” delivery during the live telecast of the "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 Big Night" last February.
Former hosts Kim Chiu and Luis Manzano were also not featured in the latest announcement video. While their absence may suggest that they will not be part of the upcoming season, PBB has yet to officially confirm whether they will return.
Both hosts are currently busy with their respective projects, with Luis associated with “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” and Kim with “It’s Showtime.”
Sager marked the announcement by sharing a behind-the-scenes video from his photoshoot on social media, where he was wearing a contemporary barong.
“Yours truly, ang kapuso wonder-host ni kuya,” he wrote in the caption, echoing his former PBB moniker, “Ang Diligent Wonder Son ng Marinduque,” which he used when he entered the reality show as a housemate.
In another post, Sager shared a series of photos from the shoot, including one where he raised three fingers—a nod to the third installment of the "PBB Collab" edition.
“Hello Philippines, Hello World, we are so back!” he wrote. “Grateful to be given a new task by kuya… this time as his host :)”
PBB also welcomed Sager to his new role in its latest post, writing, “Hello, Online World! Naka-ready na si Michael Sager para sa kanyang move in sa PBB OnlineVerse!”
PBB first teased Sager’s addition over the weekend through a post announcing a “bagong MakakaSama sa Bahay ni Kuya.” Fans quickly began guessing his identity after the teaser video and caption featured clues pointing to someone with the initials M.S.
His confirmation as the newest PBB host was met with excitement from viewers, with many congratulating Sager and expressing their support for his new role.
“Deserve ni Michael,” one viewer wrote, while another said, “Yes, bagay siya maghost.”
Sager became a housemate on "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" in March 2025. Aside from PBB, he is also currently part of the ongoing musical TV series “Born to Shine.”
"PBB Collab Edition 3.0" is expected to premiere later this October, although an exact premiere date has yet to be officially announced.
Another thing to watch for in the upcoming edition is the new “Bahay ni Kuya.”
PBB is moving to a new house and location after the original “Bahay ni Kuya,” which had been home to the reality show for 21 years since its debut, closed down. The new house will serve as the home of the latest collaborative edition between ABS-CBN and GMA-7.
