Nikki Gil successfully defends thesis for Interior Design degree

Nikki Gil has reached another milestone after successfully defending her thesis for her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design degree at the School of Fashion and Arts (SoFA) Design Institute, which she shared on social media.

Monica Gil Albert, better known as Nikki Gil, announced on Instagram that she had successfully defended her thesis which focused on designing ADHD-appropriate classrooms. 

In a series of photos, the former actress, singer, and MYX VJ alum gave followers a glimpse of her journey—from working on her thesis to successfully defending it. Nikki reflected on the hard work behind the achievement.

“A little proud of this one. Proof to myself that I can still do hard things. Last time I used this part of my brain was 17 years ago lol,” she wrote.

Nikki, 38, also thanked the mentors and friends who helped her throughout the process. “So grateful to my thesis advisers for encouraging me to write about something I genuinely care about. And to @roberta815, @patch_feliciano_uy and T. Jojo Nepomuceno (thank you @johannacbuhay for the intro!) for so generously sharing their time, expertise and insight.

"To my village, thank you for keeping everything together while I disappeared into this. And through all of it, thank You, Lord.”

Friends and followers, including fellow celebrities Iya Villania and Geneva Cruz, congratulated Nikki in the comments. “Wow, congratulations, Nikki!” Geneva wrote.

“Never doubted! Proud of you, Niks! And while mothering!” Iya commented.

Among the photos Nikki shared were candid moments of her working on her thesis while spending time with her daughter, Maddie. She captioned, “Her royal highness keeping me company while I worked.”

Nikki also included a photo with her husband, BJ Albert—nephew of singer-actress Joey Albert—with the caption, “Mock defense with my super strict panelist. Hirap bolahin.”

Nikki has a degree in English Literature from Ateneo de Manila University which she earned in 2009.
