TV personality Kim Atienza has publicly expressed his desire to meet rising educational content creator Louise Anne Nagal, better known as Lans, much to the excitement of fans who have long been hoping for a collaboration.
Netizens started creating buzz after they repeatedly tagged Kuya Kim on social media and suggested a crossover between the two, with comments such as, “Sana magmeet si Lans and @kuyakim_atienza.” Kuya Kim responded enthusiastically, saying, “I would love to meet ate Lans!”
The potential meet-up quickly gained interest online, with fans getting excited. The veteran host has long been recognized for his educational trivia and informative TV segments.
Lans, on the other hand, has captured a younger audience through her signature catchphrase, “This is Laaans!,” along with her easy-to-digest facts, straightforward delivery, and natural charm. Some even called Lans the “little Kuya Kim girl version.”
Unknown to many, Kuya Kim and Lans were already following each other on social media prior to the exchange.
The possible meeting is being viewed as a collaboration between one of the Philippines’ most established educational personalities and a new-generation creator who has successfully made learning engaging for today's online audience.
Some fans even commented that a project involving Kuya Kim, Lans, and other educational-focused creators could become somewhat of an updated version of the classic show “Sineskwela.”
Although no collaboration has been announced, fans are excited to see if Lans will appear as a guest on one of Kuya Kim’s infotainment shows or digital platforms.
Meanwhile, as Lans' popularity continues to rise, online discussions have compared her to other female content creators. Some netizens argued that her success proves women do not need to wear revealing outfits nor focus heavily on appearance to gain followers and views.
Lans was quick to reject that narrative and spoke out against using her success to criticize other women.
“Hindi ko po ma-consider na achievement yung pagtaas ng followers kung may mga kababaihan naman pong ibinababa para lang may maitaas. Hindi po ako masaya na may mga kapwa babae na bina-bash, kinukumpara, o minamaliit gamit ang pangalan ko.”
She stressed that women do not need to fit a specific image to be treated with respect and that the responsibility lies with society to change its mindset, not with women to change how they present themselves.
“A woman can be confident, expressive, feminine, strong, matalino, creative, o simply comfortable being herself by posting photos, dressing a certain way, or expressing themselves online,” she added.
“ The way we dress is never an invitation for disrespect. Hindi babae, hindi ang aming kasuotan, ang dapat pinapabago para itrato nang maayos. Ang pagiisip po ninyo sana ang ayusin,” she wrote in a lengthy caption.
Her response was widely praised by co-creators and supporters, who appreciated her stance against pitting women against one another and her reminder that respect should never depend on appearance, clothing choices, or content style.
Who is Lans?
Beyond content creation, Lans is also a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) student and former student-athlete swimmer. She is best known for her energetic introduction, “This is Laaans, at sa araw na ’to...” Since launching her official Facebook page in February last year, it grew quickly, reaching 4.6 million followers to date.
Unlike many creators who focus on trends and entertainment, Lans has built her platform around educational, inspirational, and feel-good content. Her videos cover science trivia, animal facts, mental health, and life as a DVM student, while promoting authenticity, self-improvement, and personal growth.
