“Wonderful Nightmare” starring Kim Molina and Jerald Napoles has reached the number one spot on Netflix Philippines, three days after its release.

The Philippine adaptation of the South Korean fantasy romcom, which marks the couple’s first movie since they got married in March 2026, has earned praises from fans, who took to social media to commend both the story and the lead stars’ performances.

“Nasanay ako na kapag tandem kayo ni Jerald ay comedy, as in. Pinanood ko kagabi, bumaha ng luha. Grabe kayong dalawa. Hands up,” one fan commented.

Another viewer wrote, “Ang ganda!! One of the best Pinoy Netflix [films] I have ever watched so far.”

“More pa ate. Iba ka talaga. Grabe kayong mag-asawa,” another fan exclaimed, as many viewers said the movie made them both laugh and cry.

Jerald also showed his support for Kim by commenting on one of her posts, writing, “Proud of you… Sobrang galing.” Kim replied with “ilysm,” meaning “I love you so much.”

Kim also celebrated the film’s early success, posting, “Woke up to this wonderful news. Maraming salamat po!”

The movie follows Atty. Ma. Luisa “Lui” Manuel (Kim Molina), a ruthless and career-driven corporate lawyer whose life changes after a fatal car accident caused by a clerical error in the afterlife. Given a second chance to return to Earth, Lui is tasked with living as an ordinary, low-income housewife for one month.

She wakes up in the body of Jane and must adjust to a completely different life in a small apartment. Unlike her previous world of ambition and success, she now finds herself with a devoted and kind husband, Julian (Jerald Napoles), and their two children.

The original 2015 South Korean  film starred Uhm Jung-hwa and Song Seung-heon. The movie was also adapted in Taiwan in 2017 with the title “Beautiful Accident.”

Directed by RC delos Reyes, the film officially began streaming on July 7 and quickly climbed to the top of the streaming platform.

Beyond its success on Netflix, “Wonderful Nightmare” also marks a major milestone for Kim and Jerald, popularly known as “KimJe.”

The real-life couple have long shared the screen in several films, including “Un-Ex You,” “Girlfriend Na Pwede Na,” “Ikaw at Ako at ang Ending,” and “Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam.” Originally released on Vivamax in 2021, “Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam” will also be screened at SM Cinemas starting July 24.

Meanwhile, Jerald’s film “Love Ngo” is currently on its sixth blockbuster week and has grossed ₱75 million.
