Kaila Estrada shares snaps of Japan vacay with Daniel Padilla amid his viral ‘meow’

Daniel Padilla went viral after unexpectedly making a “meow” sound into the microphone during a recent performance of “Hinahanap-Hanap Kita.”

While singing the classic hit, the actor-singer changed the lyrics to “sobrang hinahanap” before adding a playful “meow” at the end of the line. The brief moment quickly caught fans’ attention, with clips of the performance spreading across social media and sparking speculation about what the cat sound meant.

Some members of the “KathNiel” fanbase, the former loveteam of Daniel and Kathryn Bernardo, along with other netizens, immediately associated the “meow” with Kathryn, his ex-girlfriend. They wondered whether it was a subtle reference to her or perhaps an inside joke connected to their highly publicized past relationship.

Others, however, pointed out that the sound may not have been directed at anyone at all. Fans noted that he had apparently made the same sound during previous provincial concerts last year, while the actor is also known to be a cat lover. For them, the moment was simply one of his usual quirks rather than a hidden message.

One netizen defended Daniel, writing, “It’s just an expression of a cat dad like him. It’s not that deep. Dear KathNiel fans, it’s time to heal. Kathryn and Daniel are both happy now with Mayor and Kaila.”

Daniel, 31, and Kathryn, 30, have since moved on with their respective lives.

The two have yet to officially confirm their relationship, but photos and sightings shared by netizens online have repeatedly shown them together, with many noting their apparent closeness.

As Daniel’s playful “meow” continued to make the rounds online, Kaila gave followers another glimpse of her time with the actor during their Japan trip.

The actress recently posted a new set of snaps from the getaway on Instagram, simply captioning the carousel, “too many memories.” The photos included moments of her and Daniel exploring Japan, along with sweet and candid shots from their time together.

Kaila had previously shared photos from the trip on September 2, when she posted a carousel of selfies and candid shots with Daniel and some of their friends. The photos showed them dining at a restaurant, riding a train, and exploring Japan together.
