K-drama Alert: IU, Byeon Woo-seok to star in romdram ‘Perfect Crown’

Perfect Crown, the highly anticipated South Korean series, is set to premiere on April 10, with Korean broadcaster MBC  simultaneously releasing with Disney+, giving international fans easier access.

K-pop idol and actress IU and actor/model Byeon Woo-seok are in the lead roles.

In the upcoming romance-drama series, IU, 32, will play a chaebol heiress who has everything except nobility, while Byeon Woo-seok, 34, will portray a prince who has nothing except nobility.

IU took on the role after completing the romance slice-of-life series When Life Gives You Tangerines alongside  actor and singer Park Bo-gum. Byeon Woo-seok accepted the project following the success of Lovely Runner with  Kim Hye-yoon.

Perfect Crown will air every Friday and Saturday, for a total of 12 episodes. The series is directed by Park Joon-hwa, known for hit series such as What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, Alchemy of Souls, Because This Is My First Life, and Touch Your Heart.

Lee Ji-eun, better known by her stage name IU, has starred in hit series including Hotel del Luna, My Mister, and Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. Meanwhile, Byeon Woo-seok has appeared in  Moonshine, 20th Century Girl, and Record of Youth. His latest role as Sun-jae in Lovely Runner won the hearts of many K-drama fans.
