Lea Salonga is about to make history on Hollywood Boulevard, and fans are getting their very first look at the moment it all becomes set in stone.

Ahead of her official induction on September 4, the Hollywood Walk of Fame gave the public a teaser of the Filipino icon's brand-new brass-and-terrazzo star. Salonga, who is being recognized in the Live Performance category, becomes the 2,855th legend to receive the honor.

The ceremony is scheduled for Friday, September 4, at 11:30 a.m. PST (2:30 a.m. Saturday, Philippine time) outside the historic Hollywood Pantages Theatre.

Fans planning to witness the historic moment in person can gather in the public viewing area on Argyle Avenue across from the venue.

Global fans won't have to miss out either—the event will be livestreamed live via walkoffame.com in partnership with Variety.

Hosted by Emmy-winning journalist Sibley Scoles, the celebration will feature guest appearances by an incredible lineup of stars, including Mulan co-star Ming-Na Wen, R&B singer Brandy, and Broadway alum Darren Criss.

The accolade kicks off a celebratory double-header for Salonga in Los Angeles: just two days later, on September 6, she will receive the Icon Award at the 3rd annual Manila International Film Festival gala at The Beverly Hilton.

Fellow Filipino artists quickly took to social media to cheer on the Broadway icon. "OMG we're so proud of you coach," wrote singer Vina Morales. "We'll have a photo there when I get back to LA."

For Salonga, the star is a fitting monument to a trailblazing career. In 1991, she became the first Asian actress to win the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her star-making turn in Miss Saigon.

She made Broadway history again two years later as the first Asian performer to play Éponine in Les Misérables—a show she has revisited throughout her career, most recently as Madame Thénardier in 2026's Les Misérables: The World Tour Spectacular.

To generations of moviegoers, she is also royalty as an official Disney Legend, having provided the singing voices for both Princess Jasmine and Mulan.

From starring as The Witch in a local production of Into the Woods to voicing a lead villain in DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming Filipino-themed feature Forgotten Island, Salonga continues to shatter ceilings and bridge cultures worldwide.
